Great idea! This would make for a really good render, too. I always like these kinds of adventure stories... Keep it going!

Oh, and by the way, I would buy a "you know you've been doing CG too long when" calendar... hehe. I often see wireframes on things around me when I blink...

I think the character needs to be eccentric looking, like an old British safari bloke or something! Cool concept and like somebody said above, plenty of scope to make this a stunning render! Good luck and thanks for your feedback on my work.

Maybe change the helmet for a safari type hat? and give him dome binoculars? And a handlebar moustach? Only my personal slant on it but I think it could work quite nicely.

Modeling: The zoomed out view

A view of what part of it is going to look like, i may want to zoom in on the character more for a more dramatic effect

what do you think

by the way the safari hat british dude looks better me thinks

Dimitri

Haha, great character so far. He looks awesome just barely peeking over the side like that. Keep it up!

EDIT: Cool, just saw that you're a Junior in High School. I'm a Sophmore... it's nice seeing other young people around these parts... hehe.

Thumbs up

You were so helpful in my thread, I wanted to make sure I didn't miss yours.

Your style looks different, did you do something with a blimp-type balloon in the past? I don't remember where I saw it. Nice work, in either case.

Have you thought about the background? The goggles gave me a bit of a think, what if we see the horizon in the reflection of his goggles? It could be almost an extreme close-up, with a fantastic view reflected in them. I think its always interesting to see things that are off camera somehow. Just an idea.

Good luck to you.
