Logitech MX1000

Hello everybody,

I've just recently bought a MX1000 mouse and it works great, for a while, then the mouse will sometimes work for 10 minutes and then the left and right click buttons will stop working, sometimes it will not work at all. When this happens my keyboard also stops working, except for the control, windows, delete and alt buttons.

I want to know if this has happened to someone else and how this problem was corrected?

Hey, I got same thing happening here!

But on the other comp I have another MX1000 and it works withoung single problem. I bought them same day. Dunno what is going on... Most of the problems I get while working in Maya or playing Warcraft . Rarely in plain windows...
But as I said, on other comp it works without a single glitch..
Well it is time for me to reinstal windows anyway.. maybe I'll try with new drivers too...

I got mine fixed by reformating my hardrive, now it works.

I didn't know what the problem was but deleting everything and reinstalling windows seems to have fixed it.

The problem you describe here, almost sounds like a key on your keyboard is stuck. Or possibly the keyboard is having a problem. If it is USB, might even mess up the mouse if it is also USB?

If it happens to you again, I would try swapping out the keyboard. If that doesn't fix it (it happens again), put the keyboard back and replace the mouse.

I have the same problem. Since I am using the mouse with my Powerbook G4 mac I don't think that the problem is OS dependent.
Lately I noticed that the problem could result it my desk pad (Original from Ikea).
Iam using it also as my mouse pad. It has a steel core (maybe not steel but some kind of metal). It also has a very uniform surface.
I am know using a Ikea brochure as a temporary mouse pad because my mouse really had problems with the desk pad. No more problems now.
Since the brochure is less than half a centimeter thick I don't think that the problem results from the metal core of my desk pad but that the surface was not suitable for my mouse.
However, I don't know why the mouse buttons where also affected. Maybe some electronics sideeffect in the mouse - if it can't see its buttons won't work either...

So maybe it is your mouse pad that causes the problems.

Hope I could help!

A day before I had gotten the mouse I did a reformat and after I got the mouse installed it, then the problems started, after hours of searching for the solution I found that I had not installed the latest drivers for my motherboard, after I installed the lastest drivers it started working fine, that was 2 days ago and since then i've had no problems, so the problem might be the motherboard drivers.
