The Gentle Giant

One of my latest. I'm going to finish the legs this weekend.

And a render of a shader I was ****ing around with.

BTW, I've posted this on other forums and recieved critique that the anatomy is inconsistant. I don't think so, but I'll be refining it during the ZBrush pass.

Cheers

haha nice, feels as if he's melting, i like it! The head is interesting, uncommon design. Keep it up I would try to give him more creature-like hands, they don't fit as well with the rest of the body. I'll be watching your progress

it just depends where he wants to bring the design, maybe there is a reason for the character to have human hands. I find the human hands giving him a friendly look but it didn't seem to match as well with the rest. Maybe give it some slight adjustement, still keeping his friendly look but matching more the rest of his anatomy. Just a thought

Sorry for the very late reply.

rootdown - uh...yeah sure.

authentic - cheers.

dnk - I suppose he's cute in a globular fashion.

de_tomato - He'll be posed asymmetrically and I'm gonna asymmetrify him during the ZBrush pass.

=BlackNull= - I think that's probably a good idea. Maybe I'll make his hands slightly like The Pengiun (from Batman Returns), as I think they'd go well with his feet.

Anyways...

UPDATE!!

great update, nice render and I love the proportions of the model. The knee looks a bit odd, maybe a bit too flat; perhaps add a bit more bone definition under the skin. Also, the crease under the crotch area seems too evenly pronounced, I'd smooth it out overall and a bit more on each end of it.

Keep it up, this is fun

ps: Now that I look at the bicep, maybe make it take root more under the armpit
