Quad SLI

Take a look at this: http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=195

Then check dell's site about it.. www.dell.com/CES Nvidia's got a press release as well..

All I can say is 4 7800GTX 512s in SLI is rather nice sounding. I wonder how benificial the performance actually is :P

Raw specs are this, for this Quad SLI setup:
2GB memory total
96 pixel pipes
and 1.3 Billion transistors

That's impressive ;P

Talking

When running with full power such a PC must generate over 600W of heat... would work well as a hair dryier... certainly the most expensive one. :P

Too bad there is no benefit in 3D apps for SLI yet...only gelato I'm assuming...If you think about it...not many home users are going to spend incredible amounts of money on a gaming system that runs counter strike at 1000 fps, because that's what this setup is good for...gaming. If 3D apps would take advantage of this technology then companies would go crazy trying to buy these systems...and that's where both Hardware and Software companies would really benefit in the profit...but untill that happens it's only a "cool idea"...kinda like driving a Ferrari to the grocery store, instead of a race track......just my 2 cents.
