Misty Morning, Marcel Poredda (2D)

Title: Misty Morning
Name: Marcel Poredda
Country: Germany
Software: Photoshop CS

Wow... whadda know...

After nearly a whole year of painting not one minute, here I am.
Borrowed the Dylan Cole DVDs from a friend of mine, watched them eagerly and started painting shortly after that.
I had never used Photoshop for painting before and for an old Painter-user like me it was quite a different feeling.
BUT - I made it and in record time that is. ;-)

Did the whole picture in roughly ~10 hours, spent
another half hour on tonal correction and here it is: my cosy hidden-waterfall-valley-getaway *laughs*

Of course it's inspired by Dylan Cole's "Landscape Matte Painting" sketch - and i can only hope that i'm doing him justice with this painting.

Hope you like it - comments are most welcome!

Original picture size = 3550x1650 pixels
Painted with standard "chalk" brush
No use of filters, photos or textures.

Great job. My opinion on landscape, and matte painting is if your drawn to it, and it makes you want to be there, or go there. It's good. I love it.

Thank you, dma05, bin, InesD and onlooker
It's great to be painting again - after such a long time
of doing nothing it's really refreshing *smiles*

The next painting is on it's way - started today, after scribbling
like a madman in my psychology class

Still - comments or criticism are most welcome.

PS: My thanks to all that haven't posted here but rated the thread 4 stars!
