Red Dragon

I started to work on this picture today and I am oppened for suggestions and comments. The one problem that stands out over the others is that i CANNOT think of anything to put in front of that dragon . I wanted it to be knight, then just horse, then some wizard... I really could use help here

You could try something more unique than just a knight or something, and put a baby dragon in front, like playing in the grass.

That is exacly the proplem, I wanted to avoid stereotypes like knights, wizards, etc. That's why I cannot think of thing to put on scene
Beside that, how do you think I should improve drawing?

Another idea just occurred to me about what could be your other object in the painting. What about a kitten or other cute and cuddly animal trying to play with the dragon instead of being scared of it.

And the eternal question: how do I get better? For me, it's been about practicing, finding people who's critiques and tips you can really count on to help you out, reading lots of how to's and tutorials and trying out their suggestions (even if they don't end up working for you), and going back to your older pieces and seeing what you could do better about them. I also try to think about anatomy a lot, and how a body actually goes together, and use lots of photo references. If I'm just plain not sure on something, I'll look up a picture of something similar, so I know what it looks like, and then from there I can adapt it to a piece.

But mostly practice. Lots of practice.

Great concept. Maybe you can put like a cave in that rock and have some confused little critter like the other person stated, or even a Gnome. Anyway, i'd like to see more, keep it up.

Maybe you should do the "prequel" to the pic done by Squibbit in this thread..!

That would be ACE!

Firsst off -dragon looks great. As for ideas how about putting a traditional maiden in front holding up a mask on a stick of a beautiful face and she has the body to match but behind the mask we see a face guarenteed to scare a dragon -huge teeth, drool, etc
