I'm no animator but I think they look good. For some reason the sent animation's video is choppy.

Thanks alot, the scent post is choppy because its just a pose test to play with timing and where I would like certain poses to hit and transition to the next. Thanks for diggin it!!

Hey Don,

good to see another ccs grad on here, ha.. here are my thoughts on the scent animation:

I think you are missing alot in the way you are staging it right now. There will be so many more acting options if you have the other character in the scene, the one he is talking about. Having your hero character sitting at a desk for this particular scene just isnt that interesting. His poses are not consisntent with any kind of emotional tones I hear in the dialougue. He is gushing over his coworker or friend or whatever, thats the direction I would aproach this clip from. The motion overall is ok i guess, just needs more direction. Sorry if that negates a great deal of work, but I would definetly want feedback if I was working on this scene.

hey thanks alot for the replies and I get what you are saying about adding another co worker into the scence, at this point, it might be better for me to just start fresh with a new clip and work from there and call this one a learning expirence, My thought initially with the staging was that it was like you the viewer are the coworker, thinking it would pull you into it a bit more, whether it does that or not I dont know, for me it did a bit but its all trial and error, hopefully less error. Thanks again and be sure to check for updates on my website and blog

i know you've on, but i'd like to make one comment for future animations. you've got the blinks good, but they're too slow. pixar does animate their blinks 1 frame apart, but yours are so slow that it looks almost like he's cock eyed. if you sped up the blinks, i'm sure it'd eliminate the problem.

good luck with future projects
