Concept Sketch: Important news announced

Ok here goes:

I believe that a spectacular event is one that changes our lives. There are events that most of us will live once in a lifetime, maybe two. And it is certainly true that those events affect people in a different way.

But what about a relatively common event that however common, is a spectacular event to those involed?

What could that event be? I had several ideas as to what it could be. I thought of spectacular events, but most were associated to a change in the lives of those involved not for the better but for the worse.

The spectacular event I intend to portrait is that of a father. His wife is in the operation room, and has been there for some time. He has barely sleep. He is about to be a father (!) but he has lots of things on his head. His wive's life and the babie's life on a razor's edge, too much pressure at work, debts, loans... the problems are legion.

He loves his wife with all his heart. And he knows he will love the baby just as well. But if he had to choose... he does not want to choose!

With this and several litres of stale coffee, no sleep for days, etc, and all this things troubling him in his mind, he feels someone touching him.

This is the moment where he will recieve the most spectacular news in his life: His wife is ok, and he is now a proud father.

I drew the sketch on a napkin while going to have a bite...

Thank you pruvaloo, this is my first challenge post, there is an awesome amount of talent around, I am trying to keep up with it.

I was actually not going to enter the challenge, but you know what love does to a guy...

Same as me. I know everyone here is more skilled than me, but I thought I should finally bite the bullet and register and join in. I heard somewhere that the only way to get better at a game is to play a better opponent. So I figure the best way to get better at 3D is to compete against these people who are better than me. Hopefully that way I can see how they work and pick up some tips along the way

I'll keep an eye on your progress, good luck once more
