Concept Sketch: Gone swimmin - The Hazardiver

A quick sketch (10 minutes photoshop CS2 + Wacom).
Ok, this is the idea:

A man (diver or plunger) is jumping off some tall building or springboard with the sun on his back. His silouhette is backlit from a strong sun. Below him (be amazed!) instead of water there is something very hazardrous, like a bed of nails. The scene is viewed from below, at nails level and pointing towards the man. I think I'm gonna use warm colours for the back (maybe yellow or ocra) and cold colours for the nails.

This is just the first thing that came into my mind.

As for the title I came up with something like:

- Gone swimmin (I hope it sounds funny)
- The Hazardiver (cool or stupid?)

which one do you prefear (the answer none is acceptable) ?

haha... you were quick! I thought i'd get in first but i think we got our sketches in at the same time!

It looks very dynamic. I thought about drawing a trapeze for my first sketch but it all seemed a bit too difficult... so congrats!

btw... couldn't see this the first time i visited... it think the system's a bit flaky. I can see it fine now though!

I think I'm gonna rise the position of the man to enhance the sense of depth and the feeling of falling. What do you think the best setting is ? I think I'm gonna throw in some modern buildings in the back as in a city enviroment.
Suggestions are welcome!!!

duddlebug:
Thanks dudle! I'll be watching your submission in a few seconds I'm sure it's great as your other works.

ok, here are some more things I wanted to show (images hosted outside cgtalk to try keeping the milestones clean):

i did some of the tweaks I was thinking of and here is the result:

Here you have a comparison of the first version with the bigger character and the second version with the characrer sticking in position with the rule of thirds. Comments are welcome.

To help myself with perspective and composition, I set up my photoshop this way:

mmm the more I think about this thing the more craziness comes into my mind.
what do you think...if before landing on the nails there was a ring of fire for him to pass through ?? (maybe some blades too ??) ehhehe...

well...here another thing upon I need an advice . Should I put some people in the immediate foreground ? the small tree at left (in the back ground) could become a character...would it be distracting ? I also thought of putting another face (big) to fill the angle on lower left. would that distract too? (I guess I'd have to serve you a modified image...let me know!)

amida: thanks and good luck to you too!!!
