Drawing of a painting

I needed a black and white version of my amazon babe to stick on the label of my record that's coming out in a couple months, so I did the above in Photopaint 10 last night.

Also, here's a work-in-progress for a Capcom character pin-up contest:

Lots more to do on this one yet. Going to stretch her out and make her look a bit taller I think.

Your work is truly impressive. I especially like the proportions of these characters. That Chun-Li would make one great poster. Definately looking forward to seeing more of your artwork.

Yes the chun-li character is really beautifull.. the whole setup with the trees, the mountins and the soft lighting gives the picture a certain.. ..something. I dont know.. ..a good in a way kinda erotic feeling.

Very nice!

wacom tab?

Hey man ... I just flipped through your posts on the whole "what is art?" thing, saw your artwork, and thought your shit was tight.

I've been messing around with life drawing with a wacom, and just experimenting with a few new techniques ... I know a lot of japanese artists use Painter and Photoshop in tandem ...

Are you a traditional mouse painter or you got a tablet as well?

And puut up some more shit dude ...

Nice color throughout the painting. Especially in the background. Good skin tones, etc..

One thing that popped at me first was that her arms a bit too short...mainly her right arm. If she let it lay flat by her side, it would look kind of funny. also, it doesn't seem right to have the background almost appear sharper than her face (which is in the extreme foreground). Maybe some sharpening up of her facial features and the rest of her are in order?

There's also a huge empty void from where she's standing to the trees in the background. It's as if you decided you wanted the middle ground pushed way way back..which is ok. However, the lack of colors in the 'fog' or whatever really throws off the rest of the peice. Especially, since the far background is so much more rich in color.

The lighting on the figure doesn't look right. She looks kind of washed out, like someone ran up to her and threw green paint on her skin. The setting looks to be evening, or sunrise....she needs darker shadows on her.

Like I said, the colors on her are nice, but theres not much 'push and pull.' Since shes so close, she needs more contrast, and richer colors. Also, if thats fog, you're going to want to soften it up a little bit since it seems pretty still as it's a steady layer. Although, I'd consider lightening up on the fog...it almost seems like it would look better with more detail placed in that area..even hints of detail.

Anyhow, nice start . keep it up.

Soemthing else I just noticed is that both your first drawing and your painting seem to be lacking feet. They would definetly look better with feet. I see that Chun-Li has hints of feet, which is cool. but, the drawing above definetly needs feet.
