UV Unwrapping with ClothFX





You just make a FIX surface at the edge and expand it out with a bone on scale.

Apply cloth.. above was default setting. With FIX as FIXED of course

Save transformed and use it as BKD to morph.

apply planar UV..

Gives you a good start which you can fiddle with.. above was my first attempt (without fiddling) and the whole process took about 3 mins.
