The first one is cool looking ice, and I like how you made is shatter.

How did you do it? Did you use Reactor?

Yep, reactor and final render, and using Rivendale's "Split It Up!" maxscript..

Nice break up and nice shader. I'd suggest adding a particle system or two to simulate minor shattering of the ice upon impact with the ground.
