Little Cabins -Game level assets.

Working on a very large and ambitious level for my demo reel though I would post a quick screenie of what I have so far for some of the houses, there will be a total of 8 different house models and at least x2 texture maps for each house so basicly 16 different houses/shops.

I would love some feedback on my progress as I go, as I need to hear how to improve.

These are no way near done, they just have a basic skin for the moment. I am going to go in and create different little window boxes to exchange between them etc to further detail and personalize the little buggars.

Nice I like the colors

The only thing I see is the texture fro mthe sides not merging correctly.

The middle one (which is also the first house on the first post)

The roof looks funny, It looks like you've selected bits of it and used the burn tool followed by the contrast tool, it looks too different from the rest of the roof at the moment i think,.

bits look sharp and colourful others look blurred and desaturated.

other than that, nice work, good to see ambitious projects.

I agree about that roof. All of them are just in the first stages of texture and there will surely be more revision but it still nice to get some constructive critisim.

Added in some tree's and bushes to start to get a feel for the whole project to see where if the art direction is going in the right place.

Not real sure how I feel about it. I still have a ton of detail work to do.

How do you guys feel about it?

I like it... The style is a bit too cartoony for me, but you have my compliments =)

Just try to improve your textures, like said earlier, the textures mess up at merging on some places...

Gar! I finally see where they do not merge right, the roofs!

Sometimes you look at something so dang long you just don't see the small stuff.

Hi TwitchyHamster,

Loving this project. The colours are very vibrant and fit really with the style of the houses. Inspired by Final Fantasy or something else you've seen recently (Zelda maybe?)?

Might be worth posting up wireframes so everyone can see how the geo works.

Thanks for the comment. I haven't played FF in years, I wanted to try and get a cross between World of Warcraft and EQ2, DAoC, EQ, etc but I've since decided to go in a little different direction where you can see here - http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=261339

Going to up the poly's just a little bit for the main houses. Not to say I am going to throw away the little ones here, I will just use them in the background.
