Vehicle: 04 Rev Renegade 800H.O.

Hey everybody, this is something I have been working on off in my spare time over the last couple months. At some point I just want to hammer the rest of the modeling out so I can start texturing. I really would like some c&c on the modeling.





I am using Lightwave and Modo.

Thanks, I am pritty much writing off animating it because of the track. I am sure there would be some clever way of using morph maps or something to get the paddles on the track to go around, but I thought it through and it doesnt seem worth the effort at this point. I think I need to stiffen up a couple edges on the side pannels and fix the headlights. Then seperate the pannels and the front will be finished.

Like your front detail work, and I think you should do it in the back too, etc. bar should be attached approprietly for the vehicle with some metal holders! And you should also consider some comfy mapping on the seat and maybe some other details!
All in all your modelling is very good !!

So the track has scared away from this one for a while now. I am going to get back at it, and finish up the skid. If anyone has any ideas of a good way to model the track, I would love to hear it.

I almost forgot, I have also been firing off renders as I go. Check out the image sequences:
Quicktime .mp4 smaller file and better compresion
Quicktime .mov bigger file (use the first one)

Just in case you dont have Quicktime 7 yet, you can get it here.

Great work and it's nice to see some kind of unusual vehicle! The suspension looks extremly well, do you have on of those in your garage or where do you get your reference from?
I once made an excavator and had to make tracks there too. My solution was to model one element of the tracks and then make lots of instances. Each instance was the child of the instance before it and the pivot point was at the joint of the element. This way I could bent the track around the wheels which worked quite good. Although this was Cinema and I don't know if this parent / child thing works in other applications...
