3d object from a 2d bitmap? Like clipart...

I designed a logo in flash, exported it as a 2D bmp image, now I want to bring it into MAX and extrude it and edit the object in 3d. I remember there was a way to do this but I have forgotten, can anyone help me much appreciated!

Check tutorials that came with max. There is a "Turning a 2D Logo Into 3D" tutorial.

Can Flash export an AI file? If so that will go in to max perfectly.

In flash you can export as AI format and can use in max.
If it is not working properly export as .DXF and can use in max. They will come as a spline and you can extrude or whatever you want.

and remeber if you are exporting as AI( adobe illustrator) you should choose Adobe illustrator 88 mode.
good luck
