Animation Session 12 - Circus Auditions - May 2 > June 2

Hi Everyone ,

We are back with another session after a lenghty break. WIthout further wait here is this months session:

Animation Session 12 - Circus Auditions

What is Circus Auditions?:

- Animate your character auditioning to one of the circus professions. For example you might pick to animate a lion tamer trying to tame a lion , a clown doing some tricks , a cannon guy , etc. Whether they are successful or not is up to you , go creative.

Deadline?:

-Session starts May 2 and ends June 2 , so you have a month to animate.

Do I have to model and rig too?:

-No , use one of the free models available for your software of choice or a character you already modeled\rigged and use that. This is not a modeling session.

Do I need to add sound/Dialogue?:

-No , sound is not allowed in this session

How long can my animation be?:

-100 frames min , 300 frames max. All animations should be at 24fps.

THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!:
Everyone should show the following milestones:

-Sketched thumbnails showing your thought process , these can be stick figures or scribbles as long as it shows your poses and planning.

- A blocking pass\first pass and a second pass showing how the animation is progressing.

-A final animation playblast rendered with quicktime in 640 x 480 with sorenson 3 codec or an .Avi rendered with cinepac codec. NO div-x or any other codec please , we want to be able to scrub the timeline.

--

Please start your own thread under the animation session forum like the following example:

Your real name - Circus Auditions - The profession you picked (ie: clown)

--

Looking forward to everyones entries and if you have any additional questions please ask in this thread.

Happy Animating!
-Ali

I think i'm gonna enter this one right when my Finals are over... great idea.

Ali - these smaller challenges need to happen more often.

Wow, the D-paint clown :-) Do you have a sphinx and a spaceman to go with him?

Gahhhh! That pic on the frontpage plug brings back aincient memories!!
Anyone remember the amiga paint program primed to better Dpaint called "photogenics"?
That exact clown pic was the 'mascot' image - much like pic of tutunkhaman that came with dpaint.

Blehh - thats enough of my pointless waffle....

But... but... but...

Here I am, desperate to do more animation & you go and start a new session at the crunch period of the challenge!

Looks like I'll have to wait until the next one comes along...

(Unless of course, I can somehow replace my brain with ivanisavich's... then I'll be able to finish the session done by the time I've typed this sentence!)

Oooh the possibilities,

I'm gonna have a tough time trying to narrow it down to one.

I guess it's time to start my research.

You can render with motion blur for the final render. Dont worry about it during the blocking , first pass \second pass. Just post a playblast for those.
