advice for a jr artist

hello to everyone,

Im aspiring to become a concept artist or a storyboard artist. i was mainly Aimed at getting into Pixar but recently people have put the fear of doubt into my mind as to weather id be good enough to get hired.

heres a sample of my art:

as you can see im not a terribly good realistic colorist. but i want to know if its passable atleast? or if you could give me some wisdom on how to texture more realistic.. any advice would be helpfull.

First off, welcome to the forums. Second, your samples look great, letís see some more. Third, get thyself to the Feng Zhu thread here and read all about concept art from the man who may be one of the greatest concept artists of all time!

I think these are very nice drawings! IMO - Don't second guess yourself - just keep at it.

These are very good, you have a nice distinct style, a little more stylized than realistic.
I'd suggest though, that Pixar probably arent looking for realistic fantasy artists, you need to make sure you're able to draw in the style that they're looking for. Being flexible with your art style is a big thing I've found, you'll often be directed towards a particular 'look' and you have to be able to deliver that.
