Ive been watching these scetches for months, and just got a wacom tablet for christmas. When I saw the title for this one, I thought thats for me!
This is my first work in photoshop. Ive just finished painting in the lines, and I'm now colouring it. I love your style GOT!, and the way you blended Godzill and KingKong, Novacaine. __________________

![]() Well; I'm not sure if this qualifies or not because of the programs used, but it was fun to do. I'll understand if it gets deleted though, and I promise to try harder to keep it simple nexttime >^_~
Poser 5, Painter 8, Photoshop 7, Z Brush 2, about 6 hours totaled, as this was worked on throughout the day amongst other activities. ![]() Uh-oh... Ok, I had asked in another thread about using photographic and rendered elements in my sketches, and whether or not that was allowed. I got the ok, but as long as I disclose all the elements. I did list Poser here as a tool, but it occurs to me that not everyone understands how that program works with licensed content. IOW, a lot of the elements used here are licensed by other artists for a fee. One person or group will create a model, another will create textures, etc. What I did here was to pose and render the base elements of the image: the girl, her costume, the buildings, a gorilla, and a dragon. I rendered each of these things seperately on a black background to preserve the alpha, then took those elements into Photoshop. Once in Photoshop, back and forth between PS and Painter, I started building the image. I started with the gorilla. The dragon was posed as closely as possible to the gorrilla, but as the proportions are vastly different, what I had to do was create a dragon suit for the gorilla. I also manipulated the head of the dragon to have more gorilla like features. After that, I layered in the buildings and the girl, created the sky and the atmosphere, and polished it up to where I was almost happy with it, I took it into ZBrush to finish. In Z Brush, I painted in the fur on the monster, and polished it even more. A lot of folks do frown on using Poser because of the use of ready made content. I see it as just another tool I can use to bring life to my artistic vision. However, if use of this program is not appropriate for this forum, I will leave it out of my sketches in the future. __________________

Great stuff everybody! I think the child of Godzilla and Kong would be for a fantastic horror movie!
I had to edit my picture because some family members (my wife... heh) and some relatives told me the colors were all wrong and some other stuff... but I'm not fixing the other stuff... its my sketch, they can draw their own ![]() ...and thanks Tor and Robin! ![]() Last edited by GOTgraphic : 12 December 2004 at 06:05 AM. |

![]() 4 hours/Photoshop The reason it took so long was that this was my first painting, and it was a learnign experience in both photoshop and wacom. Awesome work everyone as usual! __________________

Boy, I hope my left monitor is the correct color calibration, otherwise this is going to look really dark if my right monitor is better.
Anyway, here it is....the green thing in the background is supposed to be his tail, not a finger, as my wife pointed out. This is just an image of Kongzilla out for an evening swim. --Edit-- Oh, forgot to say: Photoshop CS, approx. 30 minutes. Shufflebutt. ![]() __________________
