the landscape of (short video)

hi there, i just found out about these forums recently.

i put together a short 3d video, and i'm curious to know what people think about. i'm pretty new to 3d stuff, but i'm pretty happy with the results so far.

i'll add details laters if people comment on it. but i'll say now that it's a love story.

so the video is available here:

or (18MB)

cheers and happy holidays

I really like the style! Nice colors and the different DOF effects ar sweet . . . but I think it would look better if you improve the movements of the white character and make them more realistic...

Everything is very well done.
The only thing that isn't a 100% is the way the figure runs. He should stay a bit longer in the air after jumping

Good Job

I agree with the previous comments. You really should improve the animation, or find someone to animate for you, since you obviously are way better on the directing / compositing field !

Beautiful. I love the landscape style, your use of form and color. I agree with the others, the running man could use a little more work... his movement didn't look right, a little too jerky in some places, a little too mushy at other places. Just before he lept, his foot didn't quite seem locked to the ground.

But, more than anything, the story was intriguing enough to be well worth the watch.

Nice design and compositing. Since the run cycle and jump are basically the only animation in the piece though, I'd make them good.
I assume thats a Philip Glass piece? It works very well with your images.
Skipped over when they were handing out business sense.

thanks for the comments - you guys are all right about the character animation - basically, it just really sucks! heh. i'll perfect it asap.

i come from mostly a graphic design background, so i tried the emphasize the composition more than the character motion, but it makes the motion look horrible.
