IFF and Zdepth

Hello,

Any Cool Man could explain to me how i can extract the zdepth channel of an Iff maya file in After effects 5.5 ?

You should use the *.rla file format!

"In the Image File Output section of the Render Globals window (Window > Render Globals), set the Image Format attribute to RLA."

"In the Image File Output section of the Render Globals window (Window > Render Globals), make sure the Camera attribute is set to the name of the camera you want to render from, and then to the right of the Channels attribute, turn on Depth Channel (Z Depth). "

In After Effects you can do the extraction of Z Depth information with the 3D Channel Extract plug-in (available in the Professional Bundle) - or you could try our new eFX Extract3D plug-in, which I think is easier to use and often does a better job (biased opinion, of course
