Interview with Nvidia's CEO

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/artic...L&type=business

Here's a juicy quote:

Q: How would you describe the difference [between contemporary cards and nvidia's next gen card]?

A: I would describe it . . . as the difference between what looks like a video game versus what looks like a movie. You will see cinematic-quality results.

Gee, didn't they say that about the Gefork1...and PS2...and a dozen other things?

not that i remember.....but these cards are actually VERY differant than anything seen before, as they are fully Turing compliant. They can run high level shading languages with no problem, and even linux if someone was crazy enough to port it.
