Post The Making of "Olympic Runner" by Bobby Chiu

Olympic Runner

New to CGNetworks, Bobby Chiu presents the making of 'Olympic Runner', a 2D fleeting female athlete. Chiu describes how he built up an Olympic runner in motion in his distinctive "liquid flesh" style.

"I start to draw the runner based on the lines of action. As I draw, I really concentrate on giving it the feeling of liquid flesh being blown back by the speed and force of the runner."

Thanks Bobby!

I can never decide on what I want for Christmas, mostly because I'm not a very needy person.

I found out something I want, though! I want a 13x19" print of the 3 samurai horsemen!

Thanks for the nice words everyone!

And thank you Lisa and the CGTalk.com team for making me look like I know what I'm doing

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in USA! And a happy blessed winter for the rest of us. Seems like it's gonna be a cold one in Canada this year! (...not like it's never been cold up here every winter...)

May all our brushes and pencils find their way to good drawings and paintings.

Peace (in the Middle East)
Bobby

its great to see work that is so wildly creative, to often great pieces are reduced to the mundane to support traditional sensibilities. Keep Dreaming! Amazing talent!

Awe-inspiring draftsmanship. The concept is simple but the excecution is really what puts it over the top, in my opinion. Keep em coming.

sidenote: I really love the boxers.
