My first Spaceship WIP

Hi guys...this is a WIP im currently working on. Its my second vehcle and first Spaceship, so go easy.

It's loosly based on a sketch i found in the modeling forum reference thread...modeled in Cinema 4DXL 9.

My plans for it are to finish detaling it....try and unwrap it in bodypaint and the replace the procedurals with textures...Im thinking Wasp/hornet colours and afew racing decals...and then maybe create alittle scene for it.

I tried my hardest to make it not look like extruded hypenurbs....which i think alot of noobs spaceships suffer from.

PS. i could really do with a jet engine shader to pull apart or advise on how to make one?

All crits welcome but i'll probably ignore you.

Very nice. Are you going for different flying modes? The first image reminds me of Bobba Fett's "Slave-1" ship. http://www.cool-sf.co.uk/Slave-1.htm

Hi guys...just alitte update

I added the decals in photoshop as they were stretching alittle too much in Cinema...really must learn to unwrap UV's properly one day. Still missing guns which i might add at some point....other than that i just need to create alittle scene for it to sit in...and add booster and engine shaders...and maybe distress the black shinny texture...and maybe add a cockpit...gahhh the list go on.

if you've got any cool ideas...dont be shy.

Well guess the war will just half to wait.
ya know ya ship sorta looks like a race ship to me.
so if I can't have a war I'll settle for a race.
make ya a Hornet and well have the bee 500

Ya mesh, map and render style is A+

Good stuff. How about some forward facing floodlights & moveable fins? Looks like the kind of vehicle you might send out to explore the interior of a cavernous alien ship that seems deserted... but maybe its not completely deserted after all... eeek

That yellow and black color scheme makes it look like construction equipment for some reason. It's really looking good though. I like this alot.
