Showreel V1.0 (3d Anim)

Greetings CG artists!

I've been admiring the works herein for sometime and have been inspired to do some of my own as well as a hobby...now i'm like in the middle of things as to make it into a career of some sort (animator wannabe...hehehe).

These are my first animation works that i've worked on in my sparetime for about 2 mos.
Still tryin' to figure out some technicalities on the software as well...

do check out...

Lookfing for feedback about it. Crits, comments, like it?, hated it? or so? just let me know.

Thumbs up

Very good. Nice Characters. If i would crit at all, i would say there are gravity issues (falling over, bouncing balls etc) but overall an excellent standard!

I like it, but I think you could exaggerate the movements a bit more. In particular, the facial movements when they're speaking. Check out this preview at Animation Mentor - it doesn't go into too much detail, but there's some information in there that you might find useful - MENTOR PREVIEW

Nice job though - I like your characters.

hey man

few crits
if this is your showreel to apply for jobs, it's waaay too long. try to keep it under a minute.
and use ONLY your best stuff. if you find yourself hesistating on whether to use a clip, don't use it. you're only as good as your worst piece.

the biggest things that stuck out to me were major major foot sliding issues on every walk except the mocap one, which i would take off the reel because it's misleading.

firegoat out.

thanks for the time fellas,

...as for the characters...only the "red devil" is my creation, the other character is from Kaydara's Motionbuilder.

...i will still work on this thing and my animation skills.

...as for the feet sliding, it's half a technial issue for me cause when i do it in MotionBuilder i manage to flatten the curves and get rid of the foot sliding. It's only when i bring it to Max that the sliding and some other unwanted animation occurs (which i'm having a difficulty removing)... nevertheless, i still have to work on them indeed.

...thanks for sharing some other tips as well.
