Great stuff!


In regards to lighting, I think adding the planet to get some reflected light is a good idea. Also, have you thought about adding some stronger light sources to the ship themselves? lighting that could be written off as a part of the mechanics of how the engines work. Maybe something that leads up to the engine exhaust or under the wing under/around the disc shapes. Nothing too strong but enough to bring out some details in the some areas of the ships.
