Talking PA Challenge - character - Tyler

Hello Everyone,

I was so impressed with last month that I decided to pause working on my short film, which was burning me out cause its got more animation then I ever wanted to key in my life time.

Here is the start of my character. The title is pending. I would love to hear what you all have to say about it. I dont have a scanner so as no sketches now. As the model progresses you'll get to see it come to life, so maybe its better you dont get a premade vision.

Next up Arms.

Head close up. 198 hair splines so far.. and more to come.. yeeee

The start of the main attraction... Its a suprise you wont be disappointed..

Wow.. Nice work Mr.

Great detail, shape, personality and goggles.

Three things I notice.. (Not that they should be changed. I just notice them)

1. Eye brow ridge across the top of the nose is quite interesting. Looks cool.. but did you want it to look like that?

2. His ear holes are quite large. Maybe try giving your ears a bit more depth. They seem shallow to me. (Quite a minor adjustment)

3. Looks like he has stick on nipple patches. Mine don't look like that.

Like I said before.. Awesome work. Can't wait to see more.

Love the hair; it has that post radiation look to it. Also the tool belt and pieces of armor are a nice touch.

Small crit:

- I agree about the brow line, looks a little funny above the nose.

- I ears look to be a tad low.

Looking good so far. No real crits from me, was the slight pinch in the mesh below his eye intentional? The 'main attraction' looks interesting. Keep up the good work!

Oh my . That is outstanding Tyler.
king listed all the points i was gonna mention.
How was the Hair done? What package?

love the tiny details and the realistic-looking face. I mean it actually looks like someone you might meet

a few crits:
  • the ears have to go. They just look wrong.
  • what's with the bite-size grenades? they should be around 10-12cm long (I think ).

ps. keep the nose ridge - it's got character.

looks nice, though all the tools and wapons are
too small. and the way the knife is fastened, its impossible
to draw it.. and tou can only hold it with two fingers...

The pockets are big enough for parking coins!

Just rescale everything so he could actually use stuff.

Hint.. A hand is almost as big as a face of a character
except for children. they have really big heads.

Good work... Lets see those changes,soon!

Hello everyong..

Thank you to all that gave me some pointers.

Well ive been a crankin away the last 2 days since I posted last.

Heres my progress.. ive touched up some of the things you've mentioned.. Still things need work. The hair is not all filled in all the way around the head. The eyes are just plain bad now that Ive added irises. Basically they need eye lashes. The ears still need some work. I purposefully have exagerated the hands a little for posing purposes. What tends to happen is that hands lose size when posing in CG. Plus bigger hands read for better gestures. A historical example would be the David.

Thanks for the gear scaling suggestion. I didnt notice.. I like the tiny pouches. Could have medicine in em or something.

eyes = ew

needs texturing,..... WA I DONT WANNA UVW unwrap..

more of the special hidden feature.. (And no he doesnt have robotic legs..)

Now i need some sleep.
