Question Can you DO/USE ..MASKs.. in LW..!?!

Just wondering..!!

Like on a composition software, you could use masks..etc..!!

As i was using LW.. i came to a point where i though a mask would do all the work for me..with less messing around in LW..!!

Is it possible...say to use a MASK for objects..to appear..dissappear...etc...?!?!?

Thanx

You can have a foreground layer that could include a mask. But I am not sure why you would want to. Are you talking about alpha channels? This sound more like something you do in post.

Masks are easily done in LW.
Using gradients, you can have a null in the scene that takes one image out of view while bringing others into view.
This is but one example. Lw is quite under-rated when it comes to it's compositing abilities.

You can also use 2 bit images (b&w) as clip maps on polys. They will even cast shadows.
