here the first concept sketch, big explosion in background, small plantet with thin atmosphere, multiple color as cosmic clouds, big space ship comes out of these clouds with lightning. Big construction on the floor etc...and one character to give the whole scale of the scene.
I need to work more on the civilisation word, i think i will add more mystical content in the second shot...

*EDITED*
see to the bottom

Intresting work. I really like the contrast. This empty area with just one person versus the big explosions and chaos. The idea seems really intresting. Would love to see the next pix

Concept Sketch: Action concept sketch #1

ok, i post this one using normal way...
i'm starting some action studies, i prefer for this job to use a color sketch. I think the space environment has many interesting color like cosmic clouds etc... I don't know at the moment the kind of civilisation i'll use, this picture is only a visual test to try some effect.

Concept Sketch: Action concept sketch #2

and a next one, two planets sharing the same atmosphere in background. Big armada coming out a red light, the battle is started and the defense belt shoot on the crowd. Again a quick character not designed at the moment. I'll try different kind of ship, but i'll leave the space to reach the floor on the next pic.

I like the first concept better. There seems to be more action in it, more iconic then the second one. Second one is kinda of calming and relaxed, less contrast then in the first concept. Keep it up

I like the second one best, but the ships outside the window need a sense of movement. Maybe exhaust trails.

Wow, I love the second sketch
The idea of those two "twin" planets is great.
Good luck.

Concept Sketch: invasion of the evil snail

ooh, i enjoy this challenge, i'm trying to familiarize myself with conceptual environment. Usually in my work, characters are the main part of an image. It is really interesting to do such things. I started with the idea of a big train used by people to escape their planet. The train brings everyone to a kind of station where people can climb aboard ships leading them to a bigger ship with all the equipments to travel in hyperspace :D . Mmmmh, studying stuying~

Looks the makings of something really interesting here hecartha. I like the forms that you've begun to flesh out in your latest sketch. Great stuff!

thanks oshiroii, i agree with you about the first concept, i don't really like the second one, in fact i played with these 'twin' planets and i forgot the main goal of this image. I remember some ureal tournament level, very inspired and i would like to insert these kind of vision. One of the most beautiful level was when players were on 'egyptian' asteroid beetween saturn and his rings, beautiful! But it isn't so easy to create one picture with this feeling...

ChrisThatGuy, you're right, this scene is really annoying, and it needs a lot more things to increase/create an impact.

Thanks for the feedback Nomad, i'll try to draw some characters now.

unitstudio, i wish it will lead me to somewhere

I really like the second one best, out of the first two, and then wow what a jump to the third evil snail sketch. Nice to see concept sketches so well done and in color. Looking forward to future stuff.

Good luck

Hi Hecartha, I prefer the second of your initial sketches, that's an amazing concept you've got there. I'd imagine it would be pretty windy near the atmosphere transfer zone! I think your choice of colours in the third one works very well, it's something a bit out of the ordinary without being garish, I like your choice. I'm interested to see where you will go with it!

I like the second one the most, but I think something's missing which gives it a true sense of epic saga. Perhaps increase the number of ships and characters?
