plugin search

I am seeking a cloning plugin. I am looking for a plugin that will simplify the process of adding the stalks onto a sphere like in the attached image.

I searched Flay and found 2 that appeard to do what I want, (sp_clone_le and nut) but upon testing them out, they didn't really do what I'm trying to achieve.

This PLUGIN seems to be what I am looking for (from Pawel Olas) but I would like to find an alternative first before I spend the cash.

I am also open to a simple technique(s) as well. As it stands right now, I am making a stalk, and rotating/moving it into a desired position, rinse and repeat.

Thanks.

first of all, imo that picture could well be achieved with bevel or magic bevel. no need for cloning, as beveling could be done over the whole thing and then add variation.

second of all, here's another one, but i think it's even more expensive than olas's.
