Weird Trick

I've discovered that sometimes to make an image appear more real, it helps to make a JPEG of the image, set the JPEG as the highest layer, guassian blur it and set it to color blending mode. It kind of mutes really bright colors (You could try a different layer order to keep the bright colors if you need them) but I think It really helps blending in stray bright color artifacts. Has anyone else noticed this?
