Character - Draconian, Lee Kohse (2D)
Title: Character - Draconian
Name: Lee Kohse
I dug up an old painting I did for a speed painting thread a while ago and I decided to put a body and background on it.
The original sketch was done on a 3X5 yellow note pad and I painted it in Photoshop CS.

the only thing I'm not keen on is the the gloves. I can't imagine a creature like this needing gloves, to me this sort of creature would have big tough looking hands with large claws

I agree with squidinc about the gloves, however if that can not be changed i would suggest reworking the glove. You can not see any definition in the hand itself, knuckles, thumbs etc... it is hard to make out, it appears as though the creature has a bag on his hand not a glove.
Also the rest of the body of the creature could be worked on more. If you look at your initial image on the yellow note pad paper the head alone looks fantastic, compare it to the larger image and it loses its 'greatness' somewhat. Continue to add more detail and depth to the rest of the image and this piece will become even better than it already is.
Great piece man, but clearly you can do better : )
(Checked your website out Squidinc, got some good stuff on there man.)
