Rain

Does anyone know of any good rain tutorials floating around?

Ahhh, Rain.... =) I've done a lot of rain . But most of it was done in the days before XSI. I don't know of any XSI rain tutorials. Particle tuts for XSI are few and far between. But here are a few tips...

If it's hard rain, you don't have to match the rain splatter to each raindrop. (No one will ever know).

The rain in the background can be just grids with animated texture maps of rain mapped on them. This renders much faster,

I'd do most of it in compositing. Don't try to render out an entire rain storm in one pass. It will take forever, if you want it to look right.

it's a long time i've seen this avi but i still remember it.. the intro is a state of the art... and the particles r amazing..

i used the net veiw scene, but is there any actual written tutorials.
It looks great by the way. I just don't know how to replicate it.
