Really great work, visually really rich and polished. Character-wise they are perfectly true to the original, story wise.... hmmm! Looks fun though.

Praise to everyone involved.

Was this an UK TV Series? I don't remember seeing it in the US.

Any links to the original 2D characters for comparison?

We have enough youth, how about a Fountain of Smart?

The original series was actually French and the BBC bought the rights to show it in the UK and made their own soundtrack and voices for it. There's loads of info and pics of the original series over at

I've been waiting for the film for ages now, having seen some stills of the characters some time ago and from the look of it us Magic Roundabout fans aren't going to be disappointed

Ahhh... I see. They translate well to 3D because they are all ready 3D, just stop motion puppetry.

It seems to have the tv series appeal removed though.

I love the characters, but this looks like it'll be a disaster.

As far as I'm concerned, while it's looks completely overcooked next to the original, if they had stuck with the original pace/theme, then the G.I. Joe Generation would swith it off and walk away within about 30 seconds - guaranteed.....

"...but this looks like it'll be a disaster."

I personally don't beleive it will. I guess all will become clearer as the storyline does though.... that will definately be the deciding factor.

I think nostalgia is getting in the way of reasoned thought faaar too much these days.....

Let's be honest. The pacing appeals to the core audience: stoners.

Take that away and you've got something that doesn't appeal to the franchises audience. They may as well be making something entirely new.

If you don't believe this then why do/did (I don't have it any more) Cartoon Network show it from midnight till 4 in the morning every night?
