Game Art Competition #8: Mr. Gone - The Maxx

I am doing Mr. Gone from The Maxx. i was gonna do The Maxx himself, but i got over excited and kinda skipped the "Supervillian" part (thx elysium). anyways, i have no wacom so the textures are probably going to be subpar, but i will give it a shot.

Great character, but he's a hero...not a supervillian.

How about trying Mr.Gone?

You might wanna change the name on the thread, if you can. If you can't, then don't sweat it.

havent really found any goo maxx sites, seems to be a forgotten memory.

anyways, i started this tonite. this is my first crack at game modeling. i have tried war3 models before, but that only about 200 polys, now i get 3000! i dunno what i will do with all of em. this is about 600. if i am going about this the wrong way, please speak up

If you're jumping from 200 poly models to 3000, a good idea is to add polys to specific areas that will need more attention.

After adding a little more detail to the torso, I'd focus on the feet, hands, and especially the head. Using around a thousand just for the head (maybe less for this skinny character) to bring out features would help to give the model a great shape so less effort is put into the texture. If you still have trouble reaching 3000, throw a prop in there. Maybe have an Izs on his back.

Looking great so far.
