Demo Reels - Animation

well, i finished up school and i finally got my demo reels polished and online so i would love if some other people could gimme their opinion on them.

animation reel (4.39 megs)
game reel (7.50 megs)

the server doesn't have quicktime streaming, so i would recommend right-clicking the link and using save target as...

i think that's all for now hope you enjoy and thanks for taking the time to check them out.

oh, and mods, if i shouldn't be posting 2 reels in one thread, please lemme know and i'll change it.

nice reel. I like the sense of emotion you have captured. my only crit really is in the scene where there are 2 yellow guys and one is just holding a box. It seems a little dull and pointless. Maybe you should have the guy who is holding the box trembling a little. sort of like he is struggling to hold up the weight. A sense of weight in cartoony animations like this is critical. Nice work though. Good luck finding a job dude.

I agree with this..he needs some type of action to really sell this scene. This is a longer scene too, so it needs even more focus.

I agree with this too..if it was a basic art reel, this would fit, or if it was an animation reel with 2d animation..take it out..maybe have a prtfolio that you could show on a website or take to an interview.

overall good stuff..keep it up..hopefully will see more from you.

indeed, i agree. out of all the animations, the big box little box is my least favorite. perhaps one day i'll go back and give the second guy some life... or i'll likely cut it for my next revision.

as for the traditional examples...
the majority of the places i've applied have asked for traditional work either in a portfolio or in the reel itself. i've chosen to show it in the reel

thanks for checking it out and the feedback.

Hi @all, it's my first posting here. This forum is very cool, lots of people who know how to kick ass

I really love that cute yellow man, but the sad robot is my favourite ... what about a fulltime movie?

Could you please tell me how the song is called? thx
