xsi 3.0?

Someone please leak some info on xsi 3.0!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be in san antonio in 2 days but I can't wait.
Will anyone be at any of the softimage events?

I'll be at a couple, you can't miss me I'll be the tall black guy standing next to the short korean girl.

No rigid bodies then eh??? F***k.... Softimage please integrate into the next XSI version.....

yes i was expecting rigit bodies too :(
but if what they say about rewritten particles is true and they can compete with maya's ones then i think it's fair enough to build rigit bodies into next release.

Yes but they fall a bit back as far as simulation is concerned with maya taking a clear lead.... Even though i am a former maya user I hate to see it taking the lead now and nowadays these kind of things make me return to maya for some sequences.... If XSI had rigid bodies (and metaballs) it would be the most perfect 3d package ever... Other than that, I really love XSI..... And all the new features seem superb....

Maybe....

We will have to wait and see.... I hate waiting.... Simulation is not just particles.... It is hair and fur(perfect in xsi), Dynamics (really good but could add some more options), Softbodies (great control in xsi), particles(i like em a lot even as they are now, only lacking the instancer option that maya has because the script that does this is too slow) and rigid bodies that just don't exist and make an animator life more complex.... As i said it is the only thing that really bother me in xsi....

What is the next release really? 3.0? or 2.5? or 3.0 looks like a 2.5 upgrade. or a 2.5 looks like a 3.0 upgrade

i remember, 1.0 - 1.5 is like from 1.0- 2.0

who said something about 3d paint? Softimage never did, that for sure, at least not an integrated one in XSI 3.
I know that right hemisphere will make a deep paint 3d for XSI though....

Will new Mental Ray correct a the bug regarding volumes and secondary rays?

in the 1.5 launch event last year, they told us their plan for future releases. I remember the list includes Character Behavior system, Compositor, 2D/3D Paint, Nurbs, Hair/Fur, & few others i can't recall.

then when 2.0 was released, i heard 2D/3D paint (from metador!) was in their 2.5 work list... rumor or not i'm not sure. maybe they drop that idea because there's deep paint 3d?

i really hope to see 3d paint fully integrated into xsi asap tho. Mirai has it years ago... with all the compositor, rigid body dynamics, & wide export connectivity. :annoyed:
