Software for camera mapping

Hi all.

I am wondering if there are any software packages out there that focus on camera mapping only. I know there are a bunch of 3D and compositing packages that have these functions, but Im hoping for a package that only focus on camera mapping alone and have a vast amount of tools for multi projections, masking etc.

What I want to do is put life back into historical old photos of old buildings from back in the days by camera mapping on geometry and create some simple dolly/pan sequences.

I am on a mac.

Cheers!

Hello Colin,
I don't know any software that focus on camera mapping ONLY. And as you said, if you are going to do projections you will need geometries, you will need animated cameras, masking, multi-projections shaders, etc... everything a 3d package have, or a compositing package with 3d features like Nuke have... so I don't know if you can go much far from Nuke or a ordinary 3d software.

By the way, here's is a reference for you:

It was made in Blender, a long long time ago... but still awesome.

Best

By the way,
Garrett Fry has just released a really good training/course about camera projections.
It's called The Camera Projection Boot Camp and it covers pretty much all the technical aspects involved in projecting 2d images in 3d space for environments. Several really valuable tips and problem-solving...
You should take a look:

Thanks,

regards
