Help: Depth of Field

Hey there, does anyone know of a good tutorial for z-depth blurring (depth of field, etc..) in 3D Max? I'm trying to figure out how to do it with the Depth of Field effect, but it's not working. Here's a specific scene I'm trying to work with: I'm trying to get the second post (on the left) to be blurred to increase the sense of perspective. Anyone got advice??? (Yeah, I know I went a little nuts on the film grain )

Ok...first loose the noise from the scene.
Set a target camera and set target to the nearer post.
In the camera peramaters:
check-use target distance
check-multi pass effect
check-render effects per pass

render your scene...
if too with the focal distance etc...
hope this helps

Thanks! That worked like a charm!

I fiddled with the number of passes a bit as well to cut down on render time, but I posted up the in a new WIP thread

Thanks for the help!!
