paint effects flickering

hi there,

is there someone over there who knows how to troubleshoot paintFX flickering, we have a camera movement in the scene and we did all the opimization, just maybe some guide on what's happening.

How does the flickering look like?

My guess are the shadows.. try turning them off (the fake shadow in the Paint Effects brush settings) and see if that was the problem.
What kind of shadows are you using?

Or did you mean the aliasing?

Check out the paint effects FAQ at highend. It has a section on dealing with popping problems.

our problem is, when the camera is not moving the paint effects has no flicker, but when the camera starts to move the flicker shows, we used ray traced shadows and the flickering is like a swrming colors.

If your problem is aliasing, try enabling pfx oversample ( in the render globals pfx options).

As mentioned if you have any of the fake shadow options set on your brush, try turning them off.
Note that pfx only cast and recieve depthmap shadows.. they will
ignore raytraced ones.
