silhouette render

How can i render my characters in black and the background in white?

Old 02 February 2004   #2
No offense, but are you for real?

Well, lets see. Make the shader for the dudes a black blinn or lambert, and make the background color in the camera attirbutes white.

oh, i meant black as in a flat shade of black, like no shadows no volume. A silhouette. I want it for masking in aftereffects.

It already renders an alpha channel by default that you can invert or use how you want in after effects. If you need more masks, assign a "Surface Shader" to your objects, that gives 100% flat consistent white, black, or whatever color you choose.

That statement would only be offensive to someone that it applied to.

no, it also hurts for others to assume that it applies to me. I'm not sure what i did to get on some people's bad side here. Whatever it is i'm sorry. I really wasn't trying to annoy anyone.
