La Amenaza Sueca, Christopher Brändström (3D)

Title: La Amenaza Sueca
Name: Christopher Brändström
Country: Sweden
Software: Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Photoshop, VRay, dDo
Submitted: 30th December 2013

I visited Mexico earlier this year and of course there was lots and lots of wrestling masks being sold everywhere, so I felt I had to make a mexican wrestler when I got back. So I ended up making this piece. Since I'm Swedish I thought why not make it a Swedish Mexican wrestler? Made sense.

Btw, the original image is 2500x3640px, so if you want to see all the detail make sure to look at it in full rez here

Perfect!

And I was TOTALLY perplexed at the Swedish/Mexican feel. I was like: "I didn't know they had Lucha Libre in Sweden!"

It felt authentic enough that I had to wonder about that.

Very good.

Ha ha! Yeah, Lucha Libre would've been awsome to have in Sweden. Glad I managed to confuse you. Cheers!

All cloth in the scene, including the drape in the back was done using Marvelous Designer.

Excellent work. You got me with the Mexican Swedes too.

I haven't checked on Marvelous Designer since version 1. How is it working between that and ZBrush?

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it!

WyattHarris:
There's no real specific connection between MD and Zbrush, simply export a mesh from one software and open it in another. Depending on what you're working on and what workflow you have, there are always ways to convert the triangles to quads. It's a workaround, no real quad support yet in MD. I wrote a quick tutorial explaining it a bit better (bottom of the page): http://www.cgfeedback.com/cgfeedbac...read.php?t=3382

Thumbs up Fantastic!

It looks amazing. I though you were a mexican illustrator. I´m from mexico and this one feels very close to local images.

I feel his neck (the big luchador) feels a little broken, like if his head was a little disconnected from the body -nothing important, just a feeling-. This I say only as a personal opinion in case you wanted feedback. The illustration is absolutely fantastic.

cheers!
