Northern Viking with his loyal friend Ruffus, Jose Lazaro (3D)

Title: Northern Viking with his loyal friend Ruffus
Name: Jose Lazaro
Country: United Kingdom
Software: 3ds max, VRay, ZBrush

I love How to train your dragon, so I decided make my own Viking and dragon version trying to keep the charisma and beauty from film but following the 2d concepts from the art book instead of 3d characters from film. Hope you like it!

Please visit my portfolio if you want to see bigger and more images.

Thanks!

Wow, another great work Ballo, congrats , what brush did you use to model the dragon´s skin delails ? I guess was clay brush and some alphas. How many hours did you use to complete this artwork?

I wish the movie had been done in this style. The lighting and colors are beautiful and the characters just look amazing. This is going straight in to my reference folder

Great work, you can see it's inspired from the film while not trying to be a strained rip-off. Lovely piece!

This is a really lovely piece of work, Jose! I love the colours, mood and lighting. I also love the runic name tag on Ruffus, and the way he's chewing on a bone like a dog! Very cute.

Plugged!

my only crit is the sunkeylight, i think it could be a bit stronger. would give the image more depth and contrast.
