RealFlow and OpenVDB

RealFlow 2013 will be on board with OpenVDB in the next patch. Coming soon!

Can someone explain what this is to me? After looking at the OpenVDB website, I guess it's a better, optimized way to handle the volumetric data? So faster sims and faster reading for playback?

In the base OpenVDB is
-sparse - that can reduce cache size;
-miltithreaded and well optimized - that can add speed.
But where they supported in Realflow it's another question

For example in Houdini they used for meshing, collisions and volume representations but not in simulations(for now at least).
