Lightbulb Brainfart, maya's timeline, ever done it?

I just had a brainfart about Maya's timeline... Seems to me that if you want "spot-on" realistic animation (mocap-quality-withoutkeyframeoverload) you have to work and key, inbetween the frames... Else the structure of the fps is showing and that gives it an uncanny feel... (This can be done with the graph-editor) Animation-effects like collision and impact improve and come alive with only a small key placed on for example frame 100.06 . In slowmotion everything checks out realistically...

I'm not sure if this is a helpful or even a valid point...
But I'm sure of my animation looking good.

How come I never heard of people using this technique?
