Looking for Inspiration - Alternatives to Kinetic Type

At my workplace we tend to do a lot of kinetic type, usually when a client comes in with a very dry script and no video. Is anyone aware of any inspirational approaches to this kind of situation that do not rely on kinetic typography? KT can be engaging and interesting, but it would be nice to explore in some different directions.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Have you done any illustrations in place of the kinetic type? Not sure if any of the budgets will allow those kinds of things or a combination of illustrations with type?
