Stereoscopic Container & Compositing Info

Hi all,

I have a cellular animation that I created and my customer is requesting that one of the deliverables be stereoscopic. I have my left and right renders completed but, as I've never made a stereoscopic animation before, the process gets a little murky from here on out. Our customer doesn't really care about the playback specs as long as the file size is manageable and it can be played on desktop PC. We're using a Viewsonic V3D231 monitor for testing purposes. My question is, what container format and compression codec would be most easily accessible and which program could I use to package/export the stereoscopic video. If a tutorial exists, that would be helpful as well.

Additionally, I do have some After Effects work that needs to be done here..., mostly color corrections, depth of fields, etc. I don't see this being a problem, but specific effects like AE lightning and particles could be a bit more tricky. Does anyone know of a good technique to integrate compositing effects into left and right stereo renders?

Thanks in advance.

Respectfully,
John

Is the perspective-3dglasses effect any help? I'm not an AE user
and if i need anaglyphs i do it in Virtualdub
http://www.stereoscopie.fr/tech/vdubfilters.php?l=EN
There is also Layer-camera-creating stereo 3d rig for
anaglyph.

Thanks for the response. For this job, I'm using passive polarized. Anaglyph works fine for previewing but my biggest need is to understand which file format is optimal for packaging passive polarized. I'll check out virtualdub though to see if it's something I could use.
