Sub-D surface in Maya still used?
Hello! I do not know a lot about Sub-D modeling. I made an acc. in Digital Tutors and some of their tutorials are from around 2008. I watched the beginning of one about polygonal and sub-d modeling and I get the feeling that sub-d modeling is outdated since we can smooth our models with "3" and before there was no such thing. Am I right? Are there any pros. in sub-d modeling still? Or nobody uses sub-d modeling anymore because polygonal modeling has advanced since those days?
Thanks! |
