Army Dude

This is the last work in the series of modeling studies for this semester at school. This time I took the head and arms of a previous model and tweaked the mesh to my liking. I then created the the clothing on top and deleted unnecessary geometry from the model. It is my first time attempting to hand paint my own textures. I ended up only hand painting the face, eyes, and neck. Everything else was done with Photoshop filters, layers, and patterns. However, I did end up utilizing the 3D aspect of Photoshop so I could quickly see my results in almost real time. This work is not complete by any means, but that wasn’t actually the goal for me here. I simply wanted to dive into creating my own textures from scratch, without the use of photographs, and to get my feet wet at hand painting my models.
