Yeah what happened to 4??

5= 2+3, ie. its the best of both, not an incremental version

2 + 3 = 5 :)

Apparently this new version is a sort of blend of all the good features of Winamp 2 and Winamp 3, hence the new math version # 5.

Yeah, itunes for me too. Ever since I discovered itunes, I only play .ogg files on my winamp.

Unless the new winamp can sort songs by artist, albums, genre, normalize volumes, rate your songs, create automatic playlists..etc, I'll stick with itunes.

On a side note, MS Media player does pretty much the same stuff that itunes does, except it's slower and clunkier. Realone kinda of does the same things, but it doesn't have volume nomalizing(automatically adjust the volumes of all songs to be the same).

Just give it a chance i think you will be suprised.

It still works with Streamripper for Winamp 2 BTW.

iTunes can't be beat i never did like the video feature in winamp... and the media library was pain to use. iTunes is simple and does everything for free...

its called the Library. lets you load/edit your playlists, arrange by ID3 tags, and more. i'm still using 2.91 and it had a lot of features found in 5. i know it it can scan your hardrive for all your media files and keep them up to date if you like that kind of stuff.

i like winamp because its takes up little resources, very small on the screen, and easy keyboard shortcuts.
