Vray passes all dark, sRGB?

Hey guys,

Maybe this is something simple but im rendering out a Vray scene with multiple passes. I have my sRGB button toggled "ON" in my vrayFB, but when I save out my images they are all very dark.

Could someone tell me whats going on? And maybe how to fix it?

thanks!

What are you importing them into? Make sure they're being interpreted as linear color space and not sRGB.

Nuke will handle this automatically if saved out in the .exr extension. In AE, you have to set the project color depth to 32bpc, set Working Space to sRGB, and check the Linearize Working Space checkbox.

well right now its just photoshop, but i will have them in Aftereffects soon.

So if i just wanted them to look as they do in the VrayFB when i export them I would do what?

Not really sure what is causing that, basically it's not displaying your linear .exr in sRGB color space so it can look correct on your monitor.

Are you using 3ds Max? If so, go in preferences -> Gamma and LUT and check enable Gamma/LUT Correction. Set Gamma to 2.2 and Input Gamma to 2.2, output Gamma to 1.0. Check Affect Color Seletors and Affect Material Editor.
